A little help for your shoes.

OpenAdapt is an independent companion for Nike Adapt Auto Max shoes. The first public beta is being prepared for TestFlight review.

What this beta supports

Use an iPhone running iOS 17 or later and Nike Adapt Auto Max shoes with firmware 2.4.3M. This beta focuses on Bluetooth pairing and reconnecting, battery levels, and base light colors. Other shoe models and firmware are not supported.

Fresh fit calibration is not available. Newly paired shoes cannot use app fit adjustments, saved fit modes, or fit-related Siri actions. Use the physical shoe buttons for fit. OpenAdapt does not update firmware or perform a factory reset.

Before pairing

Keep your shoes close to your iPhone and allow Bluetooth access when asked. Follow the app’s illuminated-button prompts, one shoe at a time. Pairing and interrupted recovery are experimental. Do not reset a working pair solely to try this beta.

If a connection fails

Check Bluetooth permission in iOS Settings and bring the shoes nearby. Cancel a stalled connection before trying again. If setup reports an interrupted pairing, stop and send feedback rather than repeatedly resetting or enrolling. Removing a saved pair deletes its local profile; it does not reset the shoes or remove their Bluetooth bond in iOS.

Questions and bug reports

OpenAdapt is open source. Browse existing questions or open an issue on GitHub. Issues are public, so never include pairing files, encryption keys, or private device identifiers.

Send beta feedback

Once you have OpenAdapt through TestFlight, open Apple’s TestFlight app, select OpenAdapt, then choose Send Beta Feedback to contact the developer. You can also send a screenshot through TestFlight’s feedback flow.

Include your iPhone model and iOS version, shoe model and firmware, the steps you took, and what happened. Never send pairing files, encryption keys, or private device identifiers. For privacy questions, use the same feedback route and include “Privacy” in your message.

Your data stays with you

The app has no account, advertising, analytics, or developer-operated cloud service. Shoe profiles and pairing credentials remain on your device. Apple processes TestFlight feedback under its own terms. Read the iPhone app privacy policy and the website privacy policy for details.
